Learning Advisors: Kay Hayes
This year I am excited to be working with our senior kids again. I have really enjoyed being able to work alongside children and their inquiries. To be able to be involved and help to facilitate children’s ideas like the café and hot food group. My background before teaching was in Business and Organisation and Law. This year I have found that working with the older children I can share some of these skills and help them to organise and manage their inquiries.
My other passions have also always been in sports. Growing up I represented my County in numerous sports and my Country in one. Again this year I have found that I have been able to share this passion with many of my Homebase and may others in the school. I am really looking forward to Discovery’s journey in sports next year and feel it may be one of our best ever years. I am keen to support any kids who wish to get involved in sports in 2013.
Professionally I have strengths in Maths and inquiry learning. I am especially interested this year at developing our children’s thinking tools to enable each child to understand the depth of their own learning.
As a LA I work hard to be organised but also to be open and flexible. I love nothing more that our children organising learning opportunities and me supporting them in this. I like to try new things and to always be as innovative as we can when it comes to learning opportunities.
