Kia ora and welcome to the last week of a very busy and exciting term at Discovery 1.
The staff all wish you a great and relaxing holiday so that you all come back refreshed for Term 3.
Matariki, what a wonderful occasion. I was sorry to have missed it.
Term 3: commences on Monday July 16 and we look forward to welcoming a number of new families. We trust they enjoy their time at Discovery 1.
Open Day: The school is to hold an open day next term on Wednesday, August 8. Look out for more details next term.
PINS: A reminder of PINS on Tuesdays and Thursdays next term from 1:20pm to 2:40pm.
Learning at Home Days: As part of our special character we have Learning at Home (LAH) days. It has been noted that the Learning at Home forms are not always completed and the Office and LA’s are also not always aware that your child is taking a LAH day.
I would ask please that the forms are completed or an email is sent outlining your plans. If not received then we will have to mark your child absent. Thank you for your co-operation.
CISV: CISV Christchurch is currently looking for 11 year olds to be part of a delegation to a camp in Thailand, and 14 year olds to be part of a delegation to a camp in the Philippines - both Dec 2012 - Jan 2013 (3-4 weeks). This is a wonderful opportunity for students. Please contact Tony at School for further details.
CBD1 (Community Building Discovery 1):
Tours and induction group is meeting this Friday, 29 June at noon. We are working on our school welcoming process to new families. We would love to see you there if you have a special interest in this community process.
